Jakoetsk was seized in the Netherlands from a trader. Several species of animals were kept in poor conditions. The animals were held in cages where the floor was covered with a thick layer of excrement, spoiled food and even the remains of previous deceased animals.

Where does it feel at home?
The Siberian chipmunk lives in wooded areas with coniferous trees, in deciduous forest or in places with only bushes. They are found in North and Central Asia.
What do they like to eat?
They like to eat nuts, seeds, buds, mushrooms, berries and grains.
Fun fact:
They make two kinds of sound: a quick and sharp one for when they are frightened and a low croak which is thought to be used for mating.
