Keva was kept together with another yellow-crested cockatoo by a widower. When the man died, his son looked for a new home for the animals, as he did not have a suitable place for them at home.

Where does it feel at its best?

The yellow-crested cockatoo is found on the Lesser Sunda Islands and Sulawesi in Indonesia. There, this bird lives in semi-open forest areas, forest edges and areas with scrub.

What do they like to eat?

They like to eat seeds, berries, fruits, nuts, herbs, larvae and insects.

Fun fact:

The yellow-crested cockatoo can also be found in Hong Kong. The species ended up there after some cockatoos were set free.

Cockatoos can hold their food with one leg while breaking off pieces with the other.
