Algis came to us together with Satura via the Opglabeek Nature Aid Center. The pair of owls were ceded to the NHC by the heirs of the deceased owner.

Dante

Dante was confiscated from a private owner and temporarily taken care of by the NHC of Opglabbeek. A seizure only takes place in case of serious cruelty to animals (aviary without flying space, neglect, illegal keeping of an animal, no official papers, ...). Dante now enjoys an adapted stay together with other animals of the same species.

As a sanctuary, De Zonnegloed follows a non-breeding policy. Nevertheless, in a few cases, unexpected births take place. The animal's young will also stay at the sanctuary. Sequoia is one of the animals born here.
