Sadiki werd binnengebracht op 13/12/2012 door het Wildtier- und Atenschutzstation opvangcentrum. De politie kwam samen met de dierenbescherming het dier in beslag nemen. Op dat moment bevond de slang zich rond de hals van zijn baasje.

Ramses, along with 78 other king pythons, was seized by the Animal Welfare Department from a breeder. The breeder did not have an environmental permit to keep these animals and took very poor care of them. The pythons were covered in mites, several animals were lying dead in their tanks and several others were very skinny and underfed. Natuurhulpcentrum collected the animals and started to look for suitable homes. Ramses found a new home in De Zonnegloed.
