Where does he feel most at home?
The spotted eagle-owl lives in a very varied habitat. It can live in dry rocky areas, but wouldn’t mind grasslands, low hills, or semi-open forests like the savannah. You won’t find them in dense forests.
What’s his favourite food?
They like to eat small mammals, birds, insects, frogs and reptiles. And preferably with skin, hair and bones!
Fun fact
The calls are generally typical, musical eagle-owl hoots. Generally the male call with two hoots: "Hooo hooopoooo" and the female answers with three, with less stress on the middle note: "Hooo hoo hooo".
