Zigby
As a sanctuary, De Zonnegloed follows a non-breeding policy. Nevertheless, in some cases births do take place. It can happen, for example, that we take in an animal that is already pregnant. Naturally, the young of this animal can stay with us as well.

Nibble was kept as a pet by a private owner. But when she couldn't take care of the animal anymore, she decided to bring her to a shelter.

Where does he feel most at home?
The chinchilla originally lived in Chile and Peru on the Andes mountains.
What's his favourite food?
They are herbivores and will eat mainly dry grasses, herbs and shrubs.
Fun fact
Chinchillas are covered in a very thick fur, because of this they can live in cold temperatures (-5°C) high up in the mountains, but can’t survive high temperatures (27°C) and humidity.
Their teeth will grow continually throughout their lives.
